2020 Reflections by a Small Business with BIG DREAMS
What a year. It felt like a million in one that somehow flew by too fast. It was awful and beautiful. It forced changes on my life that I never would have imagined this time last year. It is only appropriate that I give it a proper farewell and reflect on all that it brought into my life.
I have always had this dream to start a business focused on my love of brainstorming. I will brainstorm with anyone about anything, especially if it involves creative strategies for a small business. I have a decade of experience with branding and marketing, plus my vivid imagination usually brings up an idea that has not been considered before. It is a blessing but also a curse when I’m trying to fall asleep.
As the seasons changed and the pandemic stayed, I decided it was time to launch my own dream of brainstorming creative strategies for small businesses with BIG DREAMS. In one weekend, I created my logo and built my website. I applied and was granted my LLC. I consulted the best tax guru (Kayla Bredar of Shawnee Financial Services) who helped me create a solid financial foundation for my business. I prayed for this business to go where it was supposed to go, and I showed up as Britni Brainstorm.
It was the best decision I have ever made.
My first clients were not even local to me. They were strangers across the country who have now turned into dear friends, from Bubby’s Boy-Tique in Michigan to Honeysuckle Vintage in Portland to Fringe and Free in Texas to ThePinkPennyCo in Brooklyn to The Nomadic Work Life in Arizona. I now work with many local businesses including Crude Carnivore, Alanna Milby Photography, Deliciously Ordinary, Little Lavish Accessories, and others that are secret projects in the works. These business owners have made my 2020 magical. They have believed in me as fiercely as I believe in them and their dreams.
I’m not sure what the new year will bring. However, with multiple inquiries coming through my inbox, I hope it brings growth to my team and prosperity to my clients. I promise to show up and work hard to make your dreams a reality.
Enjoy the last day of 2020. I’ll be ready to brainstorm with you in 2021!
Best,
Britni Brainstorm
